The amount of ignorance and blind conflating of the Afghan war with the Iraq war is shocking from "the kids these days".

The video is the problem. Its mere existence aids the enemy. Aiding the enemy is not what these Marines were trying to do, but they did nonetheless.

desecration of the dead is a war crime included in the geneva convention, the bulk of which was written in 1949, post world war two.

yes, all sorts of things happened in world war two - including water boarding by the japanese, which was strongly condemned by the US.

the reason the invasions of irag and afghanistan are put together as they are both invasions started by the same administration, based (more or less) on the same pack of lies.

the abuse of afghans and iraqis comes of no surprise to them - therefore it is unlikely to inflame their opinion. the only danger is that the US public will lose faith in the lies they are told by the government and fox news.

No, you do not ask a private what his view on a war is, or what he thinks of how it started. The military answers to civilian leadership. "Theirs is not to question why. Theirs is but to do and die." Especially in an all volunteer military.

This one deserves special singling out because it's the prime example of why you should keep your mouth shut when you don't know what you are talking about.

The Afghan war was justly started as a response to 9/11 and the Taliban government harboring of Al Qaeda. The mission never changed, no lies were told. Universal International support existed for the war at that time. The war is likely past its sell-by date at this time.

The Iraq war was sold as removing (non-existent) weapons of mass destruction from the Iraqis. International support for the Iraq war was sharply divided, and the reasons for its execution were quickly shown to be false. The mission changed to "liberating the Iraqis."

These well established facts of history are beyond debate.
