I don't drive so much anymore, but I do get sidewalk rage, especially in New York. Also, and specific to the subways, I get staircase rage. People walking so slowly, taking up the entire stairway, tripping on themselves, not letting me pass, carrying a million things in a terribly inefficient way, stopping(!) to talk on the phone, and many other offenses abound. Sometimes I want to literally grab people by the belt and throw them backward down the stairs for being such pigs.

I drove for a living for 8 years and by then end of it I was in a bad mood everyday. I saw a lot of horrendous driving and it felt like people were trying to kill me. The thing that got to me is that no one ever seems to think they're in the wrong. They can blatantly do something dangerous and then give you the finger when you point it out. Am I supposed to apologise for you almost running in to me? Same with pedestrians.

Cynthia Nixon backpedals
Cynthia Nixon declared last week in a controversial New York Times interview that for her, being gay "is a choice," but the "Sex and the City" star is now rectifying those remarks:
"While I don't often use the word, the technically precise term for my orientation is bisexual. I believe bisexuality is not a choice, it is a fact. What I have 'chosen' is to be in a gay relationship. As I said in the Times and will say again here, I do, however, believe that most members of our community -- as well as the majority of heterosexuals -- cannot and do not choose the gender of the persons with whom they seek to have intimate relationships because, unlike me, they are only attracted to one sex." I'm torn between being glad that she cleared that up, and being disappointed that she didn't just tell everyone to "suck it". At least she got people talking for a minute. |
