I really think if your vote is in favor of the daughter, you should be required to post your age and sex. Also, you should have to post what percentage of your responses to invitations are "maybe".

Keith,
Correction on the Apple stuff. They aren't actually Apple employees in the factories in China. They work for independent companies (such as the Chinese company FoxConn) who Apple just contracts with for manufacturing. Since they are Chinese companies in China, they aren't governed by US labor laws. Since Apple is just their customer, there are limits to what they can do (they can't sue these companies in Chinese court since Chinese labor laws are being complied with). All Apple can do is stop using these manufacturers (and they are exploring other manufacturers in other countries). Of course, if they stop using these cheap manufacturers then costs will go up for their products. If these protesters really wanted to help these workers, they would offer to pay double for their consumer electronics. |
