Foxcon

Maybe Foxcon isn't as bad as it was made out to be, but I'm sure worse conditions than working in the great USA.

However, I watched the latest episode of This Week In Tech, and they estimated that for the "new" iPad, it'd only cost Apple about $60 more to make in the USA and they would still have an ok profit margin with the current price.

I'm a self admitted Apple-Fanboy, but when Steve was alive (especially right after his return to Apple), he had USA factories to make the components for his products, so I guess he could micro-manage the whole process.

If you ask me, when the Apple components were made in the USA, they were higher quality. I have a late-2009 iMac 27" that is now on it's third monitor and second optical drive. I also have an ancient G4 Mac, and its optical drive has never failed --- works to this day --- the computer is just outdated.

I know Apple charges a premium price, but that's supposed to be for premium parts and the stuff coming out of there now just isn't. They make cool products, but they've outsourced the components and Apple products are becoming disposable just like everything else.

Either lower the price, or give us back the good components!

The show as a whole

I finally got to listen to the full show on the '4 train' today. (heard small portions live)

forget the religious stuff. this was a hilarious episode

Chemda's "Teacher touches me now" had me almost in tears.

I also love Keith's mistresses (Siri) appearances on the show. He should have a regular spot for her like Patrice. Not the whole show obviously but 1-2 minutes every other Friday or the like. When he gets rolling, its just fun to listen.

no more replies to my initial post. I guess if I am honest, I don't really care what you think nor you probably what I do. That's the way it should be on message boards - rational discussion should be face to face.

Mark Kurlansky in his book Salt states that the Irish produced a salted beef around the Middle Ages that was the "forerunner of what today is known as Irish corned beef" and in the seventeenth century the English named the Irish salted beef, corned beef. Some say it was not until the wave of 18th century Irish immigration to the United States that much of the ethnic Irish first began to consume corned beef dishes seen today. The popularity of corned beef over bacon to the immigrated Irish was likely due to corned beef in their native land being considered a luxury product, while it was cheaply and readily available in America.
and 'fracking' = this

In regards to "Coke" being a code for "soda," my friends who grew up in Texas say this. It's their version of "pop."

The Atheists' billboards are not good or bad. They are why we are America. They express our freedom of religion or not to believe in religion at all. Who is to say what is right or wrong.
