Sorry, Danny:
Seeking A Friend for the End of the World - Trailer - YouTube As for Bully, The Weinstein Company is really trying to sell theaters on playing an unrated movie (which most usually won't.) And it's working. Which is amazing (I wonder if it has more to do with the movie or the fact that they're even bothering to plead their case.) Not knowing that though, I'd have voted for Chemda on this poll because it seems impractically idealistic the other way. It's still going to cause a problem in schools, of course. But DVDs can have various versions included, so they won't have to make a decision like this. But Keith's right, it was never going to be a nationwide hit anyway. |

So a documentary that features only children in an aspect of everyday life for many kids is found unsuitable for children to watch? I agree that children should be allowed to watch the rated R version of the film. On the other hand a PG version of the film could reach a much larger population, which statically speaking will have a greater chance of opening peoples eyes. With that said, I doubt that this documentary would change a bullies mind, if anything they’re likely to get fresh ideas. Bullying has been happening since the beginning of time. In any social group there is always a part of the population that is viewed as “lesser” and are mistreated. School is just another one of those social groups. Its sad but its just another part of human nature.

The MPAA gave bully the R rating and wont budge on it because there are scenes involving homosexual kids in the movie being victimized and the MPAA is controlled by religious zelots who don't want to give any leeway too "Alternative lifestyles" especially in younger people.
I want to see it but dont, Those are some deep wounds a lot of us carry and its going to suck to see a reminder about it. I can't imagine how much worse it is now with the internet being a thing. Its not about toughing kids up anymore. Its not about "boys being boys" and all that other bullshit bully apologist try to put out. These sick fucks want to murder your children and our society rewards them, that's what people don't understand, there are bullies who will find out a kid has a peanut allergy and literally hold him down and smother peanut butter in his face. Fucking psychopaths all of them. Last edited by doctorsleep; 03-30-2012 at 08:49 AM. |
