I was too young (around 14 when it was really happening) that I don't know the exact details but I know there was some legal stuff involved. They had kids, and I know she won full custody as well as the house. I don't know if there was an actual restraining order though.

I don't really feel sorry for people when they have extended relationships with wackadoos and then complain to everybody about that person being a wackadoo. Figuring out if somebody's a wackadoo tends to be my first order of business when meeting them, let alone having a relationship with them, and I've never effed a wackadoo without knowing they were a wackadoo.

That probably means that you're the wackadoo in the equation, doesn't it?

I need to see this movie Bully.

1st Nerd does not equal Nigger. The reference points for this argument just are not valid. But I'm not going to harp on this.

Being bullied; I was bullied. Tall, smart, good grades, a teachers kid with the coke bottle glasses with braces and allergies to boot.

Being bullied does not stop until you publicly beat up your bully. It must be done. Your bully and their cohorts have to know at some point you're not to be messed with. Mine came when I finally stood up and took a kid down in gym class.

I AGREE WITH KEITH.. PUNCH YOUR BULLY IN HIS FACE. And if it doesn't work the 1st time. The next day PUNCH YOUR BULLY IN HIS FACE. You must keep doing this until finally the bully gives. You're getting punched anyway. You might as well get a little back.

Bullying extends long into adulthood. In my line of work, it's an epidemic.

...& women are the best at it.

Wackadoo sounds just like a guy I met online who was positively obsessed with Irish women. He fed off of ANY attention and would spout the same rubbish over and over. Best thing in the world is absolutely ignoring him IMO.

I think all Keith means each time he says this is that being called it is just as hurtful to the person. You are being judged by your appearance and intelligence and degraded for it. The word doesn't have the same historical significance, of course, and that's why we all gasp when he says it; but he has a wobbly point.
The same could then be said of any derogatory name-calling.

When I said I didn't see what the big deal about Bully was, I was referring to the ratings controversy. There didn't seem to be much of anything anyone could object to.

But still, the movie was pretty disappointing. What happened to your "which came first, the bully or the nerd" stance? Obviously I don't think anybody deserves any of this, but that kid was horribly annoying. He wouldn't leave those kids at the bus stop alone. They were being bullied with awkwardness.

And the lesbian segments seemed really forced. She was fine. Her father was the only interesting part of that; clearly he had to get over some prejudices he had before his daughter came out - but the movie pretty much ignores it.
