1) It was indicated on a facebook post that a former high school classmate was one of the male students/dancers. 2) Your post led me to think about it and I thought it sounded like an East Texas accent, which sounds kind of familiar to me since I'm from South Texas. Around the 50 second mark, you can see a U.S. flag in the background, which reappears a few times. When they get outside, you can see they are all wearing cowboy boots. (BONUS: The final chorus has a backup male singer who is even worse than she is.) But, sadly, the best proof is that it is from Texas is at the end, there is a phone number with a 214 area code. I know that 214 is the Dallas area. A reverse look-up shows it's Carrollton, Texas. So, thank Texas for this, and pray we don't ever start exporting pop singers with that accent. It may be the only one that doesn't disappear when you sing.

Wow. Keith and Chemda have sure had some great guests lately, but it was nice to just hear them, w/ out guests, possibly bitching at each other, and hearing about Chemda VS stupid people on the phone. Hope they do this kind of thing again. It makes 'em human. Long time listeners forget that they are ex-lovers, business partners, and friends who see each other M-F. Kinda wonder how things can be so smooth all the times. Nice to hear a 'WTF' and 'Go fuck yourself' time to time. I loved it when Keith said to Chemda, "You got something to say today, don't you?"

I just thought she was putting on an affected accent. Sounded strange to me and not really Australian, I jsut couldn't palce it anywhere in America and knew it was a "Made in the USA" video. Ugh! Have a Tooheys on me and we will call it even. : ) Last edited by Black Bart; 04-25-2012 at 09:56 PM. Reason: hit enter too soon |

re: the world being fucked, this sums it up for me - I don't know who I heard say this and this isn't a direct quote, but it was something like: "Humans seem much more inclined to respond to a crisis then plan to avoid it"

Keith and Chemda,
I’ve been listening to the show since the beginning, and I wonder; do you remember the episode a long time ago where you talked about “Requiem for a Dream?” You talking about the movie prompted me to see it for the first time. What I remember is you talking about how terrible the ending is, and how Chemda could barely stomach it. The main character and his girlfriend started out as a relatively normal couple with a small drug habit, and it evolved into the one guy ending up in jail and losing an arm, and his girlfriend going “ass to ass” to support her now full-blown drug addiction. My question is, did you feel sorry for those characters at how drug addiction had completely ruined their lives? Or were you perhaps cheering the ending on, being glad at where their lives ended up because if you recall, early on he stole a TV from his mother. Obviously where I’m going with this is John Petrie. I’m shocked to hear that you’re talking about going down to New Orleans to revel in the fact that drug addiction and a lifetime of poor decisions have destroyed a man’s life. During the episode where you found out he was in jail, I imagined the look of satisfaction you must have had on your face at finally getting closure in knowing that your life has been a success, and his a complete failure. But what you’re talking about doing now is exploiting his misfortune for your own personal satisfaction, and the entertainment of your audience. Right now you’re a victim with every right to be upset at having your stuff stolen, but if you go down there to relish in his suffering…that’s something else entirely. We all know John Petrie is a shitty person and his life speaks for itself. The question is, if you go down there, what will that say about you? It might very well be the first episode in over 1500 that I can’t stomach, and that’s coming from someone who enjoyed all the dog-man, shit-shake, casino-shit, and probably-killed-someone episodes over the years. Kicking a man while he’s down is bullying, plain and simple. |

I didn't like Requiem for a Dream because it was boring.
And I can't explain where I stand to someone that thinks confronting the person that stole things from you is worse then making teenagers digest your shit. |

I will never understand those who choose to defend shit-heads solely based on some weird convoluted guilt. John Petrie is of weak character and simply a piece of shit. To say otherwise must solely be coming from a weak person who identifies with an "aw...poor me attitude." It's one thing to acknowledge addiction. It is a completely different stance when you respect the addict...for being an addict. Junkies are synonymous with vampires. All they do is take. It's disgusting as fuck and unless they decide to help themselves, are never well again. John Petrie is an adult. Quit allowing some foolish form of political correctness to treat him as anything other than an adult. Also, Keith confronting Petrie just might be the spark that ignites his recovery. "Kicking a man when he's down." Jesus fucking christ. Dumber words have never been spoken.

This isn't about John being a poor, poor victim; he's made his own bed and he's lying in it. I'm not suggesting anyone should feel sorry for him, only that shit happens. We know John is of poor character, but what I am saying is that it's also of poor character not to be able to let a transgression go and require some kind of vengeance; especially when the person that's wronged you is already experiencing shit 1000 times worse than what was done to you. |

Celebrating someone's life being in the shitter (organizing an entire KATG event around the trial) just seems to be in poor taste. I expect poor taste from John, but I think you're above that. |
