It was wise to redefine the nature of civilization's concept of astronomy over the years since Galileo showed that the heavens weren't centered on the Earth. It was wise for the US of A to define the concept of the nation in terms of separation of church and state in response to centuries of oppression and further it was also wise for the entirety of the US of A to finally redefine civilization further towards terms of genuine equality for all when they abolished slavery. You can find another example in the wisdom of Marvel in hiring Joss Whedon to direct the Avengers when civilization had previously been largely immune to his charms.

Seems to me that major concepts of civilization are oftentimes held in place by fears which prove, with hindsight, to have been essentially baseless - or at least if they had any base at all, it wasn't much more than good old-fashioned ignorance.

I think it is normal to start noticing and loving boobs when you're a 12 year old boy, I was just wondering about the sucking part. Hell, I was editing a boudoir session a bit ago and my six year old son walked into the office and I quickly turned off my computer screen. He then innocently said, "hey, um, why don't you turn the computer on again?" So, I know even at 6, he would have been ok to stare at a picture of a pretty lady in skimpy clothing. I guess I'm so ok with boys obsessing over women's boobs, just really nervous about the thought that by 12 they're already that sexually active.
