The most important thing to remember about the ACA is that this is a Republican plan. It was written by the Heritage Foundation in the 1990's as a response to Hillary Clinton's healthcare plan. Republicans have been in favor of this exact plan for years. This is the same plan that Romney implemented in Massachusetts. The only reason they're against it now is because Obama did it.

I have to give amused kudos to you. Michael, for using a Rachel Maddow clip after a show where Rich Vos tried to paint Rachel as being the same as Ann Coulter, just for the other side.

If Rich had ever actually watched Rachel's show for 60 seconds, he would've been able to tell how different she is. And how different MSNBC is from Fox News.

Well, maybe not Rich. I've never heard a couple with more disdain for anyone who actually knows stuff. (Yes, I'm including Bonnie. Anytime anyone tried to make a factual point, she breaks out the nerd voice.)

You're still doing the same thing as before. I asked a genuine question to someone I believed could give me more understanding to the situation. You just want to attack and not provide any helpful dialogue. If I wanted to hear a lot of angry non-answers I'll ask you but as you can see my question was directed to Michael.

Very true and for some reason ignored by the republicans. These last four years have been so frustrating and polarizing. The Clinton years really did a great job at working across the aisle and proves how important it is to have the senate and house all working for the most part together. This "lets just sit back and not do anything and see what happens" approach is maddening and I'm so thankful some of the crazy teapartiers were voted out.

The tea-partiers could never come to grips with the fact that they lost in 2008.

No, I actually meant 2008. The rise of the Tea Party post the 2008 election campaign meant that Obama's first term was going to be marred by their dogged determination to tear him down at every opportunity.

That he prevailed this year, in 2012, serves as a message to the Tea Party that they are most certainly invalid.

I'm hoping it proves to people that simply having a political stance of "we will make sure nothing happens" is not politics. The fact that both the speaker of the house and president are already talking about compromise with the budget is a good thing, now the dems have to be careful to not gloat or push it too much so they can actually get stuff done. This is a VERY important four years for the democrats.

I thought this show was really fun! It was clear that Chemda and Keith were enjoying the banter and it contributed to me being really engaged in the episode! Great guests! I would love to hear them on the show again!
