You win by being happy, successful, marrying a hot architect, and never thinking about him again. He would actually be happy to be punched in the face by you. It would let him relive his glory days.

I know no one can tell you how to handle your own anger/issues with the past, Keith. I also can't truly know how badly this guy affected you... but as an outsider listening in, after a while, it just comes across sorta sad and petty. Everyone's story on the show today did. Also his misery is mainly just sort of perceived and not actually real. It's just you looking at him and thinking "I'd hate to be that... he must hate it too. Serves him right." A constant stream of face book updates talking about how much his life sucks would be more tangible proof, that he got what you think he deserved. So it also just came across sort of hollow.

But I'd also be lying if I said that I never got enjoyment out of seeing someone miserable, who themselves did me wrong to begin with.

On second thought, Roger looks very happy. In fact, most people that weigh over 400 pounds are.

I cheered when bin Laden was killed, and I'm thrilled now. I'm glad you're so healthy.

Regarding fighting back and very much like Lauren's story: before I entered 5th grade I was a very short and very skinny 9 year old, so my dad sat me down and said "If ANYONE tries to mess with you, stand your ground. If a boy tries to abuse you remember to kick them in between their legs and run. If you need to fight to get out of trouble I got your back afterwards."

That was all I needed to make a point during the first few months of 5th grade, when a group of kids tried to grope me. I was the crazy girl who kicked, sure, but I was never bullied again in school.

Regarding Roger and looking at our bullies today: Later, when I was 13 I started dating a guy from my home town who belonged to this group of thugs. Wait. "Thugs" because, you know, looking back, the lulz! Because we were all 13, 14 but they listened to Metallica (oooooh, scary!).

We dated for 3 months and after we broke up I was constantly verbally abused, up until I was 18. My self esteem suffered but with time I got hot and they got fat so today even though I made peace with one of the guys (and I'm not that skinny anymore myself), I just love the fact that most of them are fat disgusting pigs with no jobs and gross fat fucks of wives.

I shouldn't, maybe. It's not a good feeling, it's not pretty. But to see the one who was so proud of his blonde mane totally bald by the age of 30, the one that I dated who was the handsome one looking like an ugly meat balloon... their misery is perceived, sure. Maybe they are jolly fat men, I don't know. But just like the stories on this show, I come from a place of someone who endured years of abuse, of making fun of my appearance, of making fun of the way I talked or walked. So now I feel completely justified in at least saying "Fuck you, you bald twit, you fat fuck, you smelly little gross man, you toothless jobless idiot."

The poll is a quandary because of course, fuck him and he deserves it all, but anyone over 30 knows that every 7 or so years you feel like almost a different person and cant believe how you used to think/ act at certain times, plus see patterns that weren't obvious at the time. You can wish all the ill will you have on people but most of them would probably say sorry if you confronted them now because they aren't that person anymore. If they deny they were pricks, then the revenge?

Most of my issues with my bullies seem to still be about me, about what I wish I'd done differently at the time. I don't know if I'd get any satisfaction out of doing it now. I wasn't violent then so being unusually violent now wouldn't feel right. If you're confident with verbal sparring maybe but I'm sure it would still be in my head afterwards way more then there's, so I'd lose in the end anyway. I haven't tracked any of them down. Maybe I should to see if it changes things because I still picture them as 17.

If the Keith and the Girl forums were a school bus, Keith would be Roger Lafferty and we'd all be young Keith.

Young Keith probably wasn't as 'goofy' as some of these forums members.

More like if the forums were a bar, Keith would be a more inclined Tim Dimond, and we'd all be drunk Irish guys.
