I'm so sick of the excuses for people like Paula Deen. This bitch was savvy enough to get her own restaurants, line of cookware AND 3 TV shows but somehow wasn't aware that "nigger jokes" weren't cool at work? She got old and successful because she could adapt to changes. I don't want to hear any fucking excuses for her. I live in the south. I've had jobs in food places and the boss wasn't coming into the kitchen and calling us monkeys and shit.

I'm glad she's losing everything and her awkward apologies don't make me feel any sympathy. Everyone needs to stop reducing her issues to simply "saying the n-word" because she did a ton of shit beyond that. She's not a stand up comedian, she's not a musician, she's a fucking cook.

Also when is the last time you heard a good "nigger joke"? Are there a ton of these going around secretly? This isn't 1945. Who heard a nigger joke in 2013 that they just can't help themselves from telling? She's a lying cunt. Fuck her.

It was definitely far more of a systemic attitude than simply saying nigger here and there. She wanted to hire black people to play slaves at an antebellum themed wedding party, for fuck's sake. Anyone who romanticizes those days has some serious issues of privilege to examine within themselves. And if finding out on the show "Who Do You Think You Are" that her family OWNED SLAVES didn't give her a moment of clarity, then this bitch isn't learning any lessons. BYE BYE.

I have to back up Chemda a bit here about people not knowing better. It's not an excuse, but it's true that not long ago the word was accepted in mixed company. I'm from Louisiana, my mom is 51. She doesn't "say" the word nigger, but when she wants to use it she will spell it out. She thinks I'm joking when I tell her it's just as bad to spell it.
