As to the question, "What do you do about it?" By talking about it on the show you just did something about it. For some of us involved in state and local politics, we can do something about it by demanding more information, more transparency, and creating more checks and balances at the state/local level. Start looking at who the major donors to candidates for office are, big banks and defense contractors don't donate without strings attached. Sometimes a candidate's donor list will tell you much more about their intentions than there speeches. Push back, even if it's just a little bit.

It's 14 hours from Melbourne to LA, 2 hours stop over to prove I'm not carrying fruit or bombs in LA, and then 4 1/2 hours to NYC from LA. A total of 20 1/2 hours. * slurp *

What Keith's point was is that flying sucks. Especially for tall people and even for shorter people in most spots. If they tool on row out of the plane, everyone would have have a better flight. Fuck the airlines!

I felt awkward about many things with my to-be father-in-law over the course of "courting" his daughter;

- When we'd booked a weekend away with him sitting across from us; it was pretty clear his daughter and I wouldn't be playing croquet and learning to yodel. "Yeah - we are going to a hotel for the weekend and will be doing it constantly. Bye!"

- When I called to ask for his permission to marry her; "even if we had never had sex before, which we have (see weekend away), if I marry your daughter it's gonna happen on a pretty regular basis."

- When we announced we were expecting our first child, we told them when my wife was 8 weeks pregnany; "Not only did we definitely have sex, we did it sans condom 8 weeks ago. Can you pass the salt?"
