So these two guests, who critique comedy, didn't review KatG cuz 'there wasn't anything of significance - like a 10 year anniversary.'
Uh huh. Julie who stopped drinking for over 7 months, but isn't an alcoholic, but doesn't count the '4 or so' drinks she had, but isn't drinking and had that incident back in 2004 but seems to be unclear about it and can only repeat 'Well I'm neurotic' over and over like some absurd mantra... Uh huh. Steve joking 'Hey Keith would YOU ever date the girl?' being totally oblivious to Keith and Chemda's past as well as doubling the insult by bragging 'Yeah I didn't watch the 2 minute KatG video" Uh huh. Steve declaring 'Reggie Watts album wasn't good' Julie sighing over 'Garfunkel and Oates' who she doesn't like' combined with them both going with 'Mitch Hedberg' as the best comedian cuz 'We'll we like other comedians but most people don't know about them - IE Kyle Kinane' Uh huh. Well if you're on a comedy podcast (one that may have had these 'lesser known comedians on) (or even not, you review comedy...lets go ahead and assume your audience is into comedy as well) why not at the very least give praise, reasons why, and promote the comedian? The only thing going through this comedy nerd's mind is 'guests do not compute.' Also. Danny Hatch swings his dick around like a porn star and makes wild proclamations like 'I am God.' Now I don't have all the information, but I voted NO to him being modest. I don't think he realizes how good of a writer he is, but that's not modesty. That is...something else. |

Thought these two were great guests and really liked how Steve explained what criticism (in art terms) really means.
Any dope can decide if they like something or not but it takes skill to express why in a way that connects with other people. If all you want is a guide then a simple system (zero to five stars or thumbs ups or downs or whatevs) will do, but if you really want to delve into these art forms more deeply and understand why these things are successful or unsuccessful in their attempts to affect us then you can find a good critic or two and learn the game better by reading their thoughts. C'mon Piffster, I like Reggie a lot but you have to admit he had a point about the extent to which Reggie's visual element is a huge part of his appeal. I mean you have to admit that. I mean, you literally must admit that. I mean, it's mandated that you admit it. |

You know what though, fuck it. Best guests, ever. They shit on the hosts. They shit on good, new, clever comedy and had all the right answers. Mitch-fucking-Hedberg. AND...the girl who didn't know anything...wears glasses. Lah-tee-fucking-da. You know what? Best show, ever. I recant my entire post. "Who's Danny?" Ugh. These guests made me want to beat them to death with a wet KatG sticker. |

Scummy, if only there were a way for us to push a shopping cart full of Malbec bottles down the streets of Sidney, Australia...drunk...naked...possibly doing rails of horribly stepped on, cheap coke from...wherever. Your black people are usually penniless and wearing nothing more than loin-cloth, (or as the old Crocodile Dundee fable of the late 80's goes, here in the States...) so it's hard to imagine where hard drugs come from there....
On your tiny island. Just you and I and that shopping cart. I like to think there's a boombox stereo. Playing all the classic KatG episodes. Possibly some spin-offs. A few 'What's My Name's" a couple 'TTSWD' (preferably the one w/ Myq and Micah) (God damn that one is good) We would stumble along. Stopping only to take another sniff. Possibly commenting on how funny it is that Keith McNally can't handle his liquor or his drugs as a MNiK ep came on. Yes. Glorious. I wish we were there now... Ah, well. A toast my friend. To 'Keith and the Girl' [Best show/spin-off/radio personalities...of all times] Cheers |
