The roast was my favorite KATG event that I actually saw live so far (still kinda bummed I couldn't do the cruise)
I was lucky enough to sit with an amazing group of friends, screaming with laughter as pretty much everybody was hilarious and obviously Jesse did a great job but as usual JFOD was just blowing me away. Get him on again soon please! |

I think the reason they use fruit flies for studies is 2 fold:
1) They share a significant % of the same genes as humans in their DNA sequence (which really shows you how much slight changes in code can drastically affect an organism) 2) Because they have such short life cycles, it is convenient to watch them age. They go from birth to being adults to being "old" so quickly, it is easier to watch how gene defects change their lives than it is to do on rats or monkeys. |
