You're strangely in denial about the power of religion. |

Hey man, fuck you! When I was weird little Christian kid with no porn, I read those cheesy romance novels old fat women read!
The imagination is a wonderful thing to beat it to. Ah, the good ol days. They weren't too good though. I always felt God watching. As soon as I orgasm'd I'd feel this horrible thick shame fall over me. Shame Penis. It's literally The Worst! I bet you Bill's got shame penis. No heaven for Bill. Sad. Oh well. |

people don't really, really want to support homosexuality, but just can't darnit. it's a deep seated prejudice within a community. it is not something that would or could change over night even if the pope performed a gay wedding in a neon thong. the story work i do gives me a somewhat authoritative voice on the matter; the last play i designed for was specifically about the gay community within a deeply conservative area. everybody ain't caught up yet. i think while we get there we could all stand to extend a little grace. |

my dad stands by me. if he understands what i'm doing or not, he believes in me. he catches me when i fall flat on my face (which i sometimes have and pretty hard) without shame and without encroaching on my autonomy as an adult. he's proud of me and the things i'm doing which was hard because i come from a long line of failed musicians and he was afraid i was making a mistake building castles in the sky.
he's loved me my whole life. he's always told me the truth even when it was hard. he taught me joy and hard work and how to love my neighbor. i've never once been afraid he would abandon me or stop loving me. ever. nothing i could ever do would keep him from having my back. my dad is great. |
