I went to college for zero dollars a year, your social/public service system in America is fucked up not just on the healthcare front.

Not everybody needs to go to college, you can learn a lot from work experience but for some fields you need formal education. Also I was a complete clueless kid still at 19, I had no idea what kind of jobs I wanted to do so getting a broad education in economics, learning how to organize my own study and summer internships helped tons with preparing me for the workplace.

The American College system is so dumb. In the Australian system, you apply to a course, not just a college. So you get accepted to Business at Sydney University or Law at Melbourne Uni or whatever. Then, when you're there, you study just that. None of this dicking around becoming well-rounded and "finding yourself" through all those random subjects they make you take in the US before you can declare a major.

Silly girl - have you learned nothing about the Great Satan's "education" system?

We go to uni to learn stuff. Seppo's go to college to get out of home, party, and play sports. Funny thing is they get charged out the arse to learn nothing, we get charged a relatively low amount to actually get educated.

Same here, you study what you need for the field you decided on. All the 'general education' is taken care of in the 12 or 13 years you need to go to school before you enter college.

For the nation as a whole, average in-state tuition and fee prices are $8,893 for public four-year and $3,264 for public two-year institutions. SOURCE: The College Board, Annual Survey of Colleges.

Private colleges are where you get hammered.
