Because of my job, USPS Mail Carrier, I am afforded most of my 8 hour work day by myself. EVERYDAY, I call my Grandma, and listen to her talk about the same things or subjects everyday. I also talk to my best friend Amy (also a mail carrier AND KATG fan) every day we both work. We talk about everything and nothing for at least an hour and a half 4 days a week. What I have found is that I have no problem talking during work hours, but it almost feels offensive if someone calls me after work or on my day off. But texting is perfectly acceptable ANYTIME, because you can answer at your own convenience, no pressure....I feel anxious even if its my parents just calling to check on me. I'm always okay after I answer and have great conversations but my knee jerk reaction is fuuuuck, why are they calling me!!

I liked George Takei's take on Phelps:
I take no solace or joy in this man's passing. We will not dance upon his grave, nor stand vigil at his funeral holding "God Hates Freds" signs, tempting as it may be.

He was a tormented soul, who tormented so many. Hate never wins out in the end. It instead goes always to its lonely, dusty end.

I can never take this position, it screams taking the higher road and not engaging at their level. This may make certain people feel ok but if Phelps and crew had showed up at my buddy's funeral and protested than I would have to pee on his grave to feel better. Really I would want to inflict harm on him during life cause death is just not enough.
