The first thing that came to my mind when I saw the pic of the mat on twitter was "that is a super narrow hallway moving in furniture must be a bitch"
Yeah the mat is a little big and that would bug me a little - probably not as much as Keith though but that seems to be a general rule in life I would suggest passive aggressively using it as your mat as well, e.g. pulling it to the middle (does it turn to fit in the other direction?) and really brushing your dirty shoes on it. |

Neither here nor there but on the Michael Sam thing, everyone should temper their excitement a litttttle. He has been drafted, but he hasn't made the team, and given that he is 40 lbs under the average weight of the Rams starting D-line (which is stacked as is), there's a very good chance he could be cut before the season starts.

The problem is not that they put a mat in front of their door. That's typical in apartment buildings. The problem is that the mat is too big. It's an already narrow hallway, and their mat doesn't even fit in their door frame! That's obnoxious. It looks like Keith and Cat probably can't even exit their place without stepping on it.
I would go in the opposite direction of lizsquiz and get an even bigger mat, one that overlaps their mat. It's time for a mat war, lay claim to your hallway space. |

Keith said that the neighbor's really young--he just graduated college. I don't like to use the "young people have no common sense" excuse, but in this case it applies. It's probably his first apartment and he doesn't realize how inconsiderate it is to take up so much common space with a big ass welcome mat.
I would say something to him. Someone needs to. |

But if you're young and new to NEW! YORK! CITY! wouldn't you over-think a move like that?
I'm waiting to see him and go, "That's some mat..." and him saying, "Yeah, it's my girlfriends. Can you guys shit on it or something for me?" |
