I got hit on a bike once. I was making a right off coming down a steep hill onto a one way street and I hit a car coming down that one way (they were going the wrong way) head on. I flew off my bike onto the windshield like that chick in Wayne's World. My legs were all scratched up from being ripped off the bike and the driver seemed mildly concerned but didn't get out of the car. Being 15, I rolled off the hood, embarrassedly assured them I was okay and dizzly walked the 3 blocks home.
If that had happened to me as an adult, I would have definitely made something more of it.
