my compulsions aren't particularly bothersome; it's when my Flight button gets stuck in the on position that shit gets janky. for no reason: fear fear fear FEAR FEAR FEAR FEAR FEAR LOOMING LOOMING LOOMING FEAR FEAR FEAR FEAR FROM SOMEWHERE FROM SOMEWHERE LOOK FOR IT WHERE IS IT FEAR FEAR FEAR FEAR. it took a long time to realize all that dread rarely had an external locus. stress triggers the button and whatever i happen to be dealing with at the time receives the bullet. i'm getting better at figuring out what's real and what isn't.

I said I don't have OCD precisely because of what was discussed, OCD is a serious condition and what I feel that mine isn't serious, it's just stupid. I used to have this thing where I never wore a specific piece of jewelry again if something negative happened while I was wearing it. And then I got an engagement ring and my dad went to the hospital the next day and died 5 days later. I looked at that beautiful display of love on my finger, that will to stay with me forever even if it's been 15 years and a child already... how can such a magnificent thing be cursed? I slowly realized that the negative that was happening in my life was all related to my dad (his moods, his illnesses) and I was supersticiously connecting it to jewelry in order to make sense of stuff. Sometimes therapy comes in the most shocking of ways.
