I'm 22, I mostly go to rock, punk and metal shows. Everyone is always nice. yeah, some mosh pits can get rough but as soon as anything happens everyone is helpful. for example, I was in a mosh pit at a stadium show with my brother when he dropped his glasses, one guy noticed and the tight pit literally parted so he could find them again. Its probably just people who go to depressing shows who are rude.

Exact same mosh pit story at White Zombie. My glasses came off, and everyone stopped when I pointed to the ground (half-deaf and blurry). Stranger found them, handed them happily, and then we raged on.

I was either 18 or 20 at the most. It's not about age.

I was laughing along with Chemda about the ticket to cut to the front of the line.

I would say about 30% of the concerts I've been to have a crazy, pushing crowd. But it's almost always up front where the people are packed in tight, and it's usually with younger people.

In my defense, funny people, I already spent almost $100. What's $20 to take my pal out nice ($10 of which goes into the shirt I will definitely buy anyway), and skip what could be a big line?

If I knew when to show up, I think the cutter would have been ideal.

I pissed (urinated) at 9:00 and EVERYONE was coming in. I'd take a cutter at that time.

Yes, Tech, it IS Disney World. It's a show. And the the 19-year-old Joy Division punk could move over 3 feet.

Now. Fairness is important. However. Does it apply in this case..?

Exactly.

The lead singer of Joy Division committed suicide, so that could tell you all need to know about the type of person that would wear the band's shirt.

Pro Tip: If you forget ear plugs: go in bathroom. Ball up some TP and moisten.

It's better than nothing. Ringing ears the next day, (on top of vicious hangover) is the worst.

The whole community atmosphere is one of the best things about seeing Pearl Jam and it's how I get people to go with me. Wait till you feel the euphoric vibe in the room, man. I always sing along but my fave thing is to respond to the stage banter like they're talking directly to me, especially when they're a bit pompous. "How you all doing tonight people?" "I'm pretty good thanks mate how are you". Like heckling but only loud enough that my friend can hear it.

Sound systems here used to be shitty and tinny (trebley) so the cheap foam earplugs would actually make shows sound better as they cut out more high frequencies then low. You can spend a bit more money and get custom moulded ones that reduce all frequencies evenly.

Your ears go into compression when the sound is loud which is why you're getting the popping thing when you swallow. Like the pressure from taking off in a plane. It's because of the compression that a show should get gradually louder the longer it goes on. This way the last band will sound as loud as the first band.
