There are rules for being in fantasy environments; keeps everybody safe and comfy. I don't care if she was spread eagle scissoring for work, you stay inside the etiquette, house rules, state/federal laws, and common decency.
None of this boys will be boys. |

I love the notion that after a life-altering rape or molestation some defensive lawyer can hold up exhibit B: The Hooter's workplace t-shirt.
"Your Honor. The victim was clearly asking for it by the nature of her workplace" Oh. So she was dressed sexy? Case dismissed! Yeah. Men get aroused by sexy. It doesn't mean we objectify them. At least, not right there. We do it alone at home. With our minds. The majority of us are after all, gentlemen |

6 Million reasons Chemda is wrong about the comcast employee
Was anyone else surprised to her Chemda supporting the Comcast employee for just following orders?
Just following orders..., just following orders..., where have I heard of employees getting in trouble for that before. |

You just keep on telling your Pastor at church this. If Old Lady McDooglehide with the big titties keeps wearing that sunday dress; God can wait! Do you often drool at church? Also, what's the McNugget policy like there? |

If you continue at this rate, a talent scout might let you into the lineup for Last Comic Standing! I don't even think he was following orders. Because of this guy, Comcast now has to include an addendum to their training manual to stop badgering customers after 10 minutes on what is obviously a lost cause. And I can't feel too bad for the guy because he at least makes a minimum wage regardless. Last edited by Scat; 07-17-2014 at 01:03 PM. |

I used to work at DirecTV as a customer retention agent and I HATED it. I was employed there from 08-09, right when the recession hit the US. Naturally, that meant that everyone and their cousins were calling in to either reduce their packages or cancel their accounts. Depending on the customers payment and purchase history, or their "customer loyalty score" as the company calls it, the agent is given options to offer the customer requesting cancellation. I was TERRIBLE at pushing packages and discounts onto customers and would offer at the very least two options and if they didn't bite, I'd continue and cancel the account or whatever their request was.
While I completely agree that the Comcast agent was definitely a pushy asshole, he is also being held to an assholish business standard and, like Chemda said, if they want a complete company policy change, they're going to have to do more than just fire the guy who was just fighting tooth and nail for his paycheck and bonus. Yeah, it was his choice to take that particular job and he did choose to make an ass out of himself and the company by pushing shit on the customer so hard, but honestly, if the company didn't set the bar at the level of "save everyone", he may not have reacted that way. I tend to have more respect for a company that have people in charge who can take responsibility for any error that occurs under their supervision, instead of finding a scapegoat and backing away with their hands in the air, like their hands are clean. Just like the issue with GM who knew about their recent manufacturing issue for years, but wanted to save money instead of producing a safer vehicle for their customers. I don't see how it's the factory worker's fault for an issue the company blatantly lied about. |

I really don't know why anybody tries to justify sexual assault, sexual harassment, or rape by the clothing anybody was wearing. I'd like to live in a world where women feel free to show as much of their body to me as they want to in as much of a public space as they want to without being afraid of being violated. But instead men come out of the woodwork to tell women to cover up or be punished.

The problem is no one is saying these women deserved to get harassed. But harassment exists and thrives in this sort of environment. Taking a job like this and not expecting harassment to happen is naive at the least. Now I'm not saying when it inevitably does happen that the women don't have the right to press legal/criminal charges. But for us to sit around and say, "Wow I can't believe that happened in a place like that." Is just... silly.
