I hired someone in the past 6 months who can't even formulate a written sentence properly. I have to review every e-mail he broadcasts to a wider audience. Verbally, he's fine. Having to issue a written English test for an IT position isn't something I'm looking forward to for my next round of hiring.

Commas are considered the hardest punctuation to use correctly.

The space before ? and ! is because of autocorrect and predictive text. It automatically puts a space after the word, so when you put the punctuation, it is too much trouble to go back and delete the extra space. So you end up with sentences that have spaces before ? and !. But not period, because a double space converts to a period with autocorrect. iOS lesson complete.

The main thing about written grammar is, can the reader understand the correct meaning of the sentence without having to reread part of it? You can write it as weirdly as you want but If I have to stop to interpret what you meant, then you've failed.

Kambri's learning space sounds awesome - I wish there was something like that close to my city.

There is an online learning site called CreativeLive that has been my crack for the last 6 months. Just bucket loads of information for creatives - for free. Unless you want to keep the videos they broadcast, then you gotta pay but while they are live or rebroadcasting, soak it in!
