Admittedly, I haven't used this voice memo thing yet. But my gut reaction is: it sounds like it sucks. Text messaging is so great! It's quick, discreet, and accountable. I don't buy that using your voice is clearer because what could be clearer than the written word? If the information you're communicating requires the subtlety and nuance of speech, then just have the phone call.

But I recognize that I could be like all those people that were shitting on text messaging when it first became a thing. "What, I gotta take the time to type my thoughts out? What a waste of effort! Why not just pick up a phone and call someone and get it over with?" Oh right, because I don't have to keep trying until they pick up or call me back, and then go through the how-ya-doing ritual and then the you-hang-up-yourself ritual. I guess we, as a people, will wait and see who's right.
