I failed to mention that what really bothered me the most about the Artichoke Pizza story is that less than 5 minutes earlier they recognized me as "Boss."

Someone who is anti-Semitic isn't racist they're anti-semitic. The words aren't interchangeble. Though it would be a safe bet that someone who is anti-semitic is also racist. All squares are rectangles but not all rectangles are squares.

On the "I hate Jews" disambiguation, I've gotten into discussions with several people about this because I live in Ukraine, and they have internal passports that state their citizenship and nationality. I think these are poor translations, because you can be a Ukrainian/Russian/Belorussian/Georgian/Moldovan/etc. citizen and then have a nationality of Ukrainian/Russian/Belorussian/etc., but Jewish is an accepted nationality but Christian/Muslim is not. An example would be someone born in Russia that lives in Ukraine would be a Ukrainian citizen with Russian nationality.

I think they have confused nationality with ethnicity. If you put both words into translation software, nationality will appear as a noun and ethnicity will appear as an adjective, which is not necessarily the case in English.

I first had this Jewish nationality discussion in 1995 with a Kazakhstany exchange student in Texas who insisted that Jewish was a nationality, and I insisted there was no place in the world called Jewland that I could move to and attain Jewish nationality.

I then asked a U.S. diplomat I worked with in 1997, who was Jewish, about the distinction and he said that essentially there is no other religion in the world with such long-held and closely-related ties between ethnicity and nationalism as Judaism, so Jews do not get too politically correct when it comes to making a distinction between religion, ethnicity, and nationality.

If you want to be PC, then:

• Jewish = a practitioner of Judaism from any country or ethnicity
• Hebrew = ethnic Jew that can practice any or no religion at all
• Israeli = citizen/national of the state of Israel that can practice any or no religion at all

Once in a while, my brain gets trapped in a circular thought of visualizing the logistics of something that completely grosses me out. I've passed out from this at least a dozen times in the last 5 years or so. It's happened to me when people have talked about stds particularly aids.(why I can't listen to that WMN show) It has also happened when I've gotten a deep cut that I stared at too much, and the most embarrassing time and most recent time until now is the first time I put it in a girls asshole. Not to be too semantic Scummo, but I'd hate for you to limit yourself to such a target-rich environment. Semitic refers to any speaker of Hebrew or Arabic, or to any Biblical descendant of Noah's son Shem, which includes Abraham and eventually leading to Ishmael and then Muhammad according to the Koran. So, anti-semitism can technically be applied to both Muslims, Jews, Arabic speakers, and Hebrew speakers.

Chemda and Judy Gold are both Jewish so to you they are the same race?Jewish isn't a race its a religion and to a larger extent culture. That's why they have a different word specifically for someone that hates that culture. It's like saying; "That person is racist because he hates women." Women isn't a race so it would be incorrect.

Having grown up in NY and NJ, it boggles my mind that other states don't sell by the slice. You can buy acres of land in Nebraska and build a mansion from scratch for what it would cost to buy an apartment in my neighborhood, but now you live in fucking Nebraska with no pizza by the slice or 24hr 7-11's. Fair trade.

Pizza isn't seen as a major fastfood here unless you count delivery as fastfood as well and then you would obviously get a whole pizza.
I think the only time I've seen it sold by the slice in Germany is from Pizza Hut.

One year at KATG week we had a great apartment near Washington Square park and there was a pizza place right across the street, I think I had a slice from there every night I can back after drunk shenanigans ... soooooo good

I agree with you that the word is dumb but I do think ultimately there is a fear involved behind the hate. A fear of

1)The Unknown /The Other. People are afraid of things that are different and that they don't get. "Why would you want to suck a dick? that's weird. All I know tells me men don't do that

2) and in terms of male homophobes I sincerely think there is a underlying fear of being treated the way they think women should be treated. MEN do physical things, MEN are sexually agressive and don't take no for an answer, MEN do the penetrating, MEN have the power. Then the idea of a man who does these stereotypical feminine things comes around and suddenly its the end of the world.

The idea that, if they would possibly have a man be attracted to them, then fuck them, then treat them the way they treat women, is a fear these idiots have.

This is very useful, I've never seen it broken down like this before. The race/ethnicity thing has always been confusing. I have non-religious jew friends who consider [Ashkenazi] jews a seperate thing from just being white and the rabbi at the chabbad house in my school sure implied the same thing.

It's hard to get people to think technically instead of just going with what they see. People don't say Barak Obama is the first Half-black president, or president of mixed race, cuz he looks black and they want to keep categories simple.

I agree that there is a certain level of fear that leads to the hate. But calling it homophobia, to me, puts them on the defensive, when in fact they are the ones attacking the culture by oppressing their rights. It's been thousands of years that this is going on. It's time to get over illogical fears.

Regarding whether you'd disown your killer 11 year old: we know by now that bullies come from being bullied- beaten by their parents, usually. The mother shouldn't even have the option to keep her kid, the child should be taken away and counseled for whatever they'd lived through to become so violent at such a young age.

There also are situations out there where the kid was from a great home with loving and non-violent parents, but they still turned out to be killers. I believe immensely that certain surroundings can shape a person's behavior, but when is it time to blame the person who actually committed the crime instead of their surroundings/parents/religion/favorite group? Everyone wants to be a part of a group, but that particular group's ideals doesn't give pass to any individual committing crimes against humanity as a whole. ( fuck, maybe I should have passed on that last bong toke.)

But I completely agree, a good majority of these types of cases are a result of abuse by those that are supposed to love and protect them. It's too bad that a simple mental health test before anyone has kids is looked at as infringing on a person's right to reproduce. If you're a shitty and mean person, there's a good chance that your children will be as well.
