Key difference between white & black people rioting - whites riot over important things like sports, and they generally burn other people's shit. Blacks riot over bullshit like criminals finally getting justice, and they generally burn their own shit.

It is funny that if there's major looting you're only taking toilet paper and fake cheese. I like those guys.

What petty crime is worth a broken spine after you are taken into custody? Is this a joke maybe or do I need to walk away...

I hardly think dealing drugs and assault charges count as "petty crimes".

But then again, I'm white.


Also, I reckon the dead dude chimped out had an epileptic fit in the back of the van. Clearly, his injuries were self inflicted.

Great discussion about the situation in Baltimore. Seeing the blatant racism in my Facebook feed from friends and more disappointing, from my family members is really tiresome. The shit that is going on there is not ideal to fix this national issue, but with the countless personal stories of the daily harassment they've faced against their "protectors", I don't blame them for feeling like they had no other choice.

Deray kept the interview civil and on point. He's a great voice for the movement. As he said, broken windows are not broken spines. Those windows will be replaced but Freddie will not.

My initial reaction to the riots is the same as the one to the people drowning in the Mediterranean when they try to smuggle themselves into the EU:

"Everything is horrendously terrible and there is no easy solution and I'm deeply frustrated that I can't even figure out what I want to say on the topic because most likely whatever I say either is or sounds stupid."
