No. They don't have to be better. They have to be smarter. They don't have to be more humane or good or more charitable or more sympathetic. They have to know how to do their job. Part of that is knowing not to lie about treatment and getting caught, part of that is treating a person with respect or at least not getting caught treating them like shit. I knew a ton of premed people in college and know them who are doctors now or who flunked out and are doing research in labs. Most of them were fucking frat bros, getting drunk and chasing ass like any other college stereotype. They also happened to put more importance in their studies than the loner english major because they knew that's what it took to get the career they wanted. They didn't have a calling and weren't bred better. They worked for it.

That's the set of skills they chose to focus on. If you chose a random doctor and told them to produce a podcast, run a resturant, do some taxes, they couldn't. They are better at being doctors than you are, not better people.


Just as you and Keith don't shit talk in front of people clients or people being ad space I'm sure even these shitty doctors wouldn't say this infront of a person who was conscious and could understand them. If they had, just done they shit talking in front of an awake customer or co-workers who weren't also shitty I'm sure they would've been fired but they wouldn't have been made to pay anything if they didn't also lie to his fucking face "Hey, we're gonna say you got another procedure but you didn't lol"

But if you think someone is a better human than you because they're smarter and not because they give a fuck about what they're doing and are doing (ie A caring doctor is a better person than a dentist who doesn't give a shit and treats patients crappy) then whatever. I have to go back waiting on tables

while performing your duties, you absolutely have to live up to the higher standard your profession burdens you with. fucking sorry, dude. soldiers don't get to desecrate dead bodies; doctors don't get to talk shit about you while performing a procedure on you. dignity is part of the game.

do what you want in your off time, but the moment you put on that uniform it implies a particular set of ethical behavioral standards that everyone should be proud to hold them to.
