On a side note, I heard a discussion about WWII humour, including some great jokes which I've naturally forgotten.
One of the less great but still funny jokes:
"When the RAF is in the sky, the Nazis run for cover. When the Luftwaffe is in the sky, the Allies run for cover. When the USAF is in the sky, everyone runs for cover..."

And it's still true to this day.
