Spooky > now thats sort of a lie....france and germany are hardly worldwide opposition. we had the entire world, with the exception of a small minority of countries that were PROVEN to be in the pocket of Saddam I think that this is correct only in a sense. The US move was supported or at least not blocked by the representatives of many countries. However if I remember correctly polls of popular opinion at the time, certainly in Europe, put the majority of the population (taking the EU as a whole) as being against the US move. In short, at the time the majority of States in Europe supported the US the majority if the people opposed them.
