What's dumb about it? The Obama administration has already been bombing their oil supply, but it's been limited. The argument against it has been that it would hurt local infrastructure more than ISIS itself, but I don't get what was funny.

Because it's hilarious that the US still thinks that it's perfectly normal that they can just randomly go around and bomb foreign countries.

Is that what was funny? I don't get it, but I think they were laughing at the idea of bombing an oil supply.

There are good reasons not to do it, but it's not random; it's war. This is a tactic that the administration has used. No one on either side disagrees that if we could successfully cut off the supply that's funding ISIS, it would hurt them severely.

Ok, so you were just laughing because he was talking in general. It seemed like everyone in the room was laughing at the words "bombing the oil" specifically, and that's what I didn't get - and yeah, it is the worst.

I agree that he always sounds ignorant when he talks. Unlike Sara Palin though, what he's talking about is real and not just a bunch of buzzwords like "freedom" and "patriot". Conservatives (and some democrats) that pay attention get the subtext of what he's saying. It's mostly fear mongering and bigotry, which isn't funny at all. Not trying to understand why it means a lot to some people is how guys like him get elected.

I'm worried that liberals are going to sit back and laugh up to the point that he's in the White House like they did with George Bush. People thought he was a joke too.
