If you're so poor, stop buying food that you don't even eat right away.

First of all the best cheeses are like wine - I never eat any quality cheese before the use by date.

Expiry dates are generally made up by the manufacturer to make sure you buy more stuff - milk smells bad before it will make you sick, so if you have a nose the label adds no value for most people. (When I was kid, food including milk didn't have a expiry dates and hardly anyone died)

However there is a condition called histamine intolerance where people are allergic to histamine, which is a naturally occurring chemical in many foods. Histamine is also a by product of bacteriologic action, that is as food gets older the level of histamine builds up. This means any food that is not fresh will cause a reaction and also brewed/fermented foods like soy sauce (and beer)

Red wine headaches (one glass not seven, that's a hangover) are caused by histamine intolerance.

The key thing here is that food that is passed expiry and that is perfectly safe for nearly everyone can make some people sick.

If your partner has this its a pain in the arse at a restaurant, but you get automatic dibs on any leftovers.

In defence of the trump supporter I heard "niggA lover."

I really love black culture (mainly Tarantino, Eminem and Iggy Azalea) and I think its time we take back the phrase.

Are you with me my crackers?

How long ago did Ken move out of my parents' house?

Good for him, indeed.

Of course not. But if it bothers you when the expiration date is worn off or not printed clearly, then you're Team Keith.

Oh, I didn't know you meant if handled properly.

We have two types here: "Best Before" and "Use By". I'm going to check the smell and look of both anyway but the psychological game works on me. It says use by for Cliff's sake.

A conversation at home about bbq sauce last week:

Me - The sauce is bad
GF - It's fine
Me - It's past it's best before date
GF - It's only a suggestion
ME - It says best before 2013!

She used it, I didn't, threw out the rest of it ("so is it fine or not???"), she's been sick for 10 days. Probably an unrelated illness but it's still something. At least a lol.
