"Let's hear about other people" Keith said. How about everything Trump has said about his opponents? You've talked about him tweeting a bad picture of another politicians wife. How could you possibly think that Hillary is the only person who has paid people to talk shit about someone in politics?
Chemda had a point when she said that Trump has already done damage. He hasn't convinced people to BE racist but he has let them believe that it's okay to be blatantly racist, sexist and abusive towards people. Vote for the prez who thinks it's okay to say all women are idiots and that brown people should be kept out of the country. I know you're not racist or sexist, Keith. I've been listening to you for a decade. But it does seem like maybe you think what he's done is not so bad, more of a joke, because you're a white male and can't completely see the damage he's already done. Michael's right. This isn't for funsies. This is for 4 long, long years and all the stupid, inexperienced things he'll do to ruin our country that will take longer than 4 years to fix. Don't vote for Hillary if you don't want to. There's nothing wrong with that. But then I implore you to vote 3rd party. If you're not *for* Trump, don't give him your vote.

I don't get why that's being treated as some sort of horrible, hold your nose outcome. She's promising a continuation of Obama's legacy while adding some stuff like paid family leave. Where's the issue there? |

The reason I'm holding my nose for Hillary is because she is also a war-monger who will say anything to get elected. She'll throw both her husband and Obama under the bus, if it gets her elected. Because I can contrast her "politics as usual" style with Bernie's style. Having an honest politician is no longer a "pie in the sky" dream. Just look at her bullshit "where was Bernie" fuckery. One of the few times I can remember Hillary genuinely laughing and smiling was when she talked about how Gaddafi died. So, yes Hillary is to the left of the Republicans but also a terrible politician (just like nearly all the other politicians are). That is why I must hold my nose when casting a vote. It looks like "politics as usual" can come to an end within the next few election cycles thanks to internet money and internet dissemination of information. |

Just as long as you stop condemning Trump for preying on people's fears because you're only voting out of fear too. Just like all those people who voted for Hillary in the primaries because they were afraid Bernie couldn't win the general.

Politics as Usual
The argument that "this is politics as usual, and it's what every other male politician has done"
This isn't totally true but even if you suspect it, this is the first election where we have a candidate that isn't corrupted. It's just HRC's bad luck that Bernie happened when he did. She could have been Roger Clinton and he'd be under attack. I think the prophylactic sexism charges and the shit slinging from the right for so long has oddly insulated her from further and valid criticism from the left. Your very argument, "Every politician does it" begs for a candidate that doesn't and wants to end it. |
