I thought the president is not voted on by either the house or the senate? Did I say anything about accidents anywhere? |

FYI for the election of the POTUS from Wikipedia The election of President and Vice President of the United States is an indirect election in which citizens of the United States who are registered to vote in one of the fifty states or Washington, D.C. cast ballots for a set of members of the U.S. Electoral College, known as electors. I believe New York awards its electoral votes to the candidate who wins the state's popular vote. (If I'm wrong on this I'm sure Micheal or someone will correct me) Quote:
In the state of New York that could only happen there was a hell of an accident. New York is about 64% Dem and only 36% Rep. In 2012 Obama got 4,485,877 votes and Mitt got 2,490,496. So if you throw away your vote AND 997,690 other people change from Dem to Rep, then your decision is stupid. But that would be a hell of an accident.

to be clear, i was drawing a parallel between Trump and Brexit in respect to riling up nationalism and xenophobia to pursue power instead of putting forward workable solutions to real problems.
