I also thought that Jennifer Aniston talking about beauty standards just felt weird to me. I thought about it and this is why to me it feels weird. Her career in particular is built off of her looks, what I've seen of her she isn't an actress trying to fit in by staying attractive, but rather an attractive person who turned those looks into an acting career. All she really said is that the beauty standards in the industry are sexist. Which is completely valid, it just feels weird coming from her. It likely wouldn't have felt that way if she had went on to talk about how because of the unrealistic standards she was bulimic, was popping drugs to loose weight, or anorexic, or whatever horrible thing she did to herself to keep that unrealistic standard. If she talked about her struggle it would have felt more genuine and less hypocritical. Instead she just talked about the problems that she made money off of, regardless of if it were her only choice in her field.
It would be alot like if a wall street executive talked about how shady wall street dealings are but didn't offer any examples, and then continued to make millions in shady deals himself saying, "well this is just how you have to do it." We are already well aware there's a problem, but if you're making money off the problem in one way or another it would come off more relatable if you talked about the real problems, not rich actress problems about how the paparazzi cares what you're up too. |

her name is Rachel. show some respect. the woman has influential hair and a broken heart from one of our time's handsomest in the world hunks. if you haven't been following her story since forever, you must live under a rock. this is the Lifetime tell all portion of her career. she's a legitimate icon. were we all not #TeamAniston not so long ago? let's let her have this. #LeaveBritneyAlone

It is sad she became famous by looking average (well hollywood average) and she can't get work because of how she looks. Luckily we can all buy the new perfume she just launched. |
