I'm an occasional listener these days. Seems quiet here.

I don't see why. You're a great conversationalist.

In regards to the Johnny Depp video and Amber being super calm-I dealt with someone in my life that had a pretty bad temper. The only thing that seemed to help the majority of the time (not every single time) was to stay calm, not fight with them or speak in raised tones. Also, he sounded pretty drunk, I doubt he really noticed vocal inflections that would cue him to the fact that he was recording. He seemed consumed with rage, that's all he was focused on. And I doubt that was the first time he spoke that.

Also, mental health professionals/people who will be coming into contact with potential mentally ill/substance toxicity/volatile people are specifically trained to keep your voice even, not raised, no matter how much the other person is freaking out. It is one of the first steps in de-escalating someone. Not saying that is what Amber was doing, but there is some data to back up the urge to stay calm and quiet during w situation like this.

Loved the "beefy arms" story.

In my head it was a catcall - "nice boobs sweet ... Nope.
Sweet ass babe ... Nope.
Them some beefy arms gorgeous

Totally nailed it."

I can't decide who has the better laugh—Libby or Brooke.

For a team sport everyone is watching? Yes. Call the fucking game off. No one is playing for fun when parents and coaches are watching and yelling. You're playing to win. And if its soccer for kids 13ish or younger you're just going to be humiliated. Everyone in your class will know how badly you fucking suck and tease you about it. If you're playing in the street with no one watching, keep going.

How can any sane country allow it?

Freedom. It has...side-effects.

I just saw Superman III in a theater the other day. It's not so bad. It's a pretty good comedy for awhile which is weird for a superhero movie, but better than getting all eighteen characters introduced three times. Then it turns into Fight Club briefly and then just gets weird and nonsensical at the end. But that hardly seems like the sort of thing you hold up as an example of a movie so terrible it must be mocked in a public forum. I guess the point is you can make fun of any movie? That sounds noble.
