catching up
From what Adam Curry said in the little skit it sounds to me that they change the verbage of each contract slightly and can track it that way. My old job does that sometimes and they could figure out who was in violation of the non-disclosure agreement. That's conspiracy theory #1.
#2 is that A/C sent them the contract as a publicity stunt. |

No way he sent them the contract. It's pretty obvious the deal is total crap now, and people are finally realizing that he's trying to become some kind of podcast tycoon. Pretty sad, really. I guess if that doesn't work out, he can always be a VJ again. The man is bad for podcasting, and should seriously have some anti-trust legislation filed against him.

There's no such thing as bad publicity. It's the end of the first quarter, I can get my hits way up before I make that deal with Viacom on the first of April, I can get the whole "Why don't you have KATG" issue off the table, and since you can't send a contract to 500 people without somebody eventually talking about it, I can "leak" it now, I can spin it in my favor, and I donot have to worry later.
They do this shit in Washington all the time. Quote:

Yeah dude he already has 500 podcasts locked into the deal. I just think he just looks more shrewed than anything else because he was able to get 500 (or whatever it is that's just the number I have been hearing) to sign up for the deal. This is perfect for him because he's getting all this free publicity to go out and look for advertisers and he has mouths than he can feed right now anyway.
Just think about it dude, he OWNS more programming in podcast form than ABC, CBS, and NBC all put together have as television shows. He doesn't need more people to sign up to podshow he needs more advertising to pay for it all. Quote:
