If you're worried about someone hacking your camera it's actually more important to find a way to disable its microphone. Recording and processing video is much, much more expensive and it only captures what's in front of the camera. The camera's microphone picks up useful data from every direction.

The last scrap of my faith in the Democrats died when Pelosi voted against the bill to shut down PRISM.

Here's one of the many things that bug me about police threatening to not protect the football players that protest at the football stadium...I guarantee the team/stadium has a contact with the police department stipulating an agreement of protection for monetary compensation. There are some things people have to do in their jobs that aren't fun.

There are times where I encounter a veteran who is a convicted child molestor. I am obligated to provide them with services regardless of my personal beliefs. I have to give the same services to veterans who curse Obama, spew racist and homophobic shit...because it is my fucking job.

IF they don't like the protests so much, do something about the corruption in their unions/departments. Refusing to do your job is not one of the options. Especially since they didn't have a problem with the rapists, domestic violence, and even murderers on the teams...fuck the guys who dare to take a knee during the National Anthem.

With the rise of the right world wide (again) I always wonder who those groups would hold up as their inspirations throughout history. Which conservative, right wing, hold back progress, all the isms, only people like me are good type of leader from the past 10000 years is remembered in a positive light?

Even though everyone seems to want to be remembered for eternity no one seems to consider how history might think of their generation. Listening to the Dollop podcast might help.

Progress always happens but like Keith said - things gradually change despite politicians. Each generation has a better education and information available to them but we have to keep waiting for the old people in power to go away.

I appreciate your red warning color, but I checked. You're wrong.

It'd help if you said why, but you're wrong. That's just a southern accent.

I think you might need to read some history - yes every new generation brings changes, but they are not always for the better.

Communism and fascism were both brought in by the young turks and the Armenian genocide was the remit of the literal Young Turks (and by literally i mean literally not the dictionary definition that includes figuratively)

Every young generation thinks it is bringing in positive change and only many years later is it clear whether the change was positive or negative as determined by the standards of later generations - don't think for one minute you are on the right side of history, nobody has a clue.

I guess you are only responding to my last paragraph? Of course young people can be dicks but in general the older you get the more set in your ways you are so aren't as willing to change. I often wonder if politicians should have to retire at 60. So many of them want to keep the world the way it was when they were young.

This wasn't pro youth. I'm 41. My main point was the first paragraph. Who are the role models for the right that history remembers fondly?
Do I think I'll be on the right side of history? Being a left leaning socialist/ humanist type person I 'd say I have much better odds then someone on the right.
