2474: Bowled Over
NYC bombings; Chemda’s tumor update and hospitals’ bedside manners; Hillary Clinton’s death; 2016’s Emmy awards; Snowden reviewed; police threaten not to protect stadiums where football players protest; piss-poor service

While I obviously don't agree with voting for Trump, to Keith's credit, I think there is a point to be made about the possible silver lining for progressives if Trump wins. Jimmy Dore makes that point pretty succinctly here:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bgJcgZtSUSY In case Trump does indeed win in November, I think it's worth keeping that in mind. On Snowden - there was a really great article done by The Intercept's Glenn Greenwald (main journalist from CitizenFour) on how the Washington Post wrote an article not only claiming that Snowden shouldn't be pardoned, but he should also be criminally charged, despite the fact that they were one of the 4 news outlets that published Snowden's documents to the public in the first place. https://theintercept.com/2016/09/18/...ting-pulitzer/ |

Election 2016
Since I am 51, this will be my ninth presidential election.
This is the first election that definitely will be won by the person who is voted against the least. There are always a number of people who are voting for "someone besides <whoever>". But usually there are a larger number of people who are actually FOR someone. I cannot think of a single person who has actually stated "I think <whoever> will be the greatest thing" No it is all "No way am I voting for Hillary" or "Anyone except Trump" Even Chemda came off not as much ProHillary as AntiTrump. The only thing that i can look forward to is We have gotten through bad presidents before. I wish we could actually do a "Brewster's Millions", I would definitely be voting NONE OF THE ABOVE. |

Breyer is 78 so he might not make it through the next president (4 years) and most likely will not make it through a two term.
Based on who appointed them Scalia - Conservative Kennedy - Conservative Ginsberg - Liberal Breyer - Liberal Right now we are at 4 and 4 so we are looking at a possibility of either 7-2 or 6-3. Either way one side will have a nice advantage. |
