Isn't it being self righteous to give all Trump voters the same label without trying to understand their real motives? What examples of moral purity are coming from the right? I haven't seen much gloating over their victory, even from the die-hard supporters. Democrats are calling for the assassination of the president-elect, and the rape of the future first lady on Twitter. I don't see anything like that coming from Republicans. |

I looked it up. I don't know if the term is meant as some kind of excuse, but microagressions are not small. They're full on racism. I don't see how you can call someone insulting you to your face a microagression. It's aggression. It seems like the psychologists behind it think racism is only action, not just beliefs or stereotypes. You have to burn a cross on somebody's lawn to really be racist.
Tell me what you mean. White nationalists are praising Trump right now, but I'm talking about the average Republican voter. What's happening now that the election is over? |

it's fun how 'average Republican voters' can distance themselves from things done in their name and claim this wonderful individual agency no other group seems to have. Lordy, Lord, NOT ME NOT ME all over the place. yes, you.
Los, i won't set you on fire, but i believe i would enjoy your dying in one. |

It took me a while to come around to it, but I've come to conclude that Trump is President because Hillary was an objectively bad candidate. Many good and tolerant people could not stomach voting for her. Calling those people racists/misogynists shows a serious lack of empathy, and does nothing towards getting them on our side.

I've read many think pieces going back and forth on the issue, trying to understand how Trump won. I don't think you can make any logical sense of it, the truth is that people hold a lot of contradictory views and probably aren't being completely honest with themselves. Consider that about 40% of Americans still believe the Earth was created within the last 10,000 years and you're not dealing with a very smart electorate.
