Apia, some of your text is frustrating because I have seen people respond to this same question about being black and/or the N-word. It feels like it comes down to: you know the facts but you don't believe the effects of them.

It was an old show where you were telling black people to stop saying it. I remember you said that if they don't, white people will always be confused. I remember Patrice saying that when she says it, she means it with an "er", not an "a".

Yeah, I think that's just a personal thing. Who I'm talking to and whethere or not it changes anything makes a big a difference for me. I can't get emotionally invested in something that doesn't really matter. That would be stressful.
