Luckily A Dog's Purpose is getting terrible reviews, so that's an easy one to boycott.

Did anyone vote the dog was just fine that saw the video and owned a dog?

Me. Only because I think people are exaggerating the video. The video released does not show him "pushing the dog in the water" or harming the dog in anyway. He dips the dog, the dog jumps out then it cuts to a different part where supposedly the dog jumped in itself and went under for a total of 4 seconds. Even in the second clip there are like 5 people standing there waiting to save it if something goes wrong.

NYT article says the dog loves water and is a great swimmer. And that it simply didnt like entering the pool from that angle.

I get it cause my dog is afraid of literally everything that's new to her. And some things that aren't new.

If someone took a video of me trying to wash my dog it would look like I was mistreating her too. Or watched me try to bring her with me to my best friends house. Or watched me try to get her to interact with the weenie dog at the dog park.

Meanwhile the heffa has her own room, health insurance, gets more presents than me at my family's Christmas and my undivided love.

I just don't think we can assume they were mistreating the dog because they attempted to get it to do something it didn't want to do.

Probably not going to convince anyone who has already made up their mind, but this is worth a read:

Any way you can just tell us?

It looks pretty wordy for it being able to explain why I didn't see what I saw.

For Keith asking for the gist:

The guy went and looked at the footage for that whole day of shooting. The article obviously gives more detail. But if I had to pick one paragraph to sum this up it would be this:

"Before the first real take, the handlers were asked to change the start point of the dog from the left side, where he had rehearsed, to the right side. That, evidentially, is what caused him to be spooked. When the dog didn’t want to do the scene from the new position, they cut, though not soon enough, and then went back to the original position. The dog was comfortable and went in on his own and they shot the scene. The TMZ video only shows the unfinished take of when the dog was on the right side. What is clear from viewing all the footage was that the dog was NEVER forced into the water."

Thanks. That's a dumb fuckin' article.

I saw the dog forced. We're missing footage where the dog wasn't forced?

i have a 75 lbs dog. getting her to do something she doesn't wanna do, but that she needs to do, looks a little like this. like, getting her down out of a truck bed that's too high. or into a bathtub. or away from something dead she wants to eat. when they're that big the struggle looks rougher than it is. i've helped and encouraged her up muddy banks, through rivers, and across boulders in ways that looked a lot like this. she's fucking fine.

Keith didn't grow up any less rough and tumble than i did, but this video wasn't as shocking to me as it is seems to be for him.

I'm a snowflake.
