Chumps microwave leftover pizza
Amateurs reheat in the oven
Pros reheat in a frypan - fried pizza tastes better than hot pizza in the restaurant
Aficionados eat leftover pizza cold, straight from the fridge

I would never beat my kids (actually they are 17, 17 and 21-the possible beating days have long past). But stopping my sister? She is one scary bitch. She would probably beat me instead.

It'd be tough in Petey's situation. "Ain't you on probation?" is probably exactly what he'd hear, and it seems likely that's what CPS would say to him too.

My kids' best friends receive "whoopings" where my kids would receive timeout. It feels like a difference in culture (they're black, we're white) and I'm uncomfortable with the practice, but I don't think I've witnessed anything truly abusive. Good parents administer discipline out of love, bad ones do it out of anger.

The segment about the cockroaches in the ears and nose paired really nicely with the classic episode where Keith and Chemda talk about a video where girls are putting eels in their assholes (from episode 96: Ray Visits, which I also happened to listen to today). Now I'm debating, which would I rather have, a cockroach in my brain or an eel in my ass?

A cockroach has never excited me and (maybe I'll eat my words) a cockroach never will.

I'm misreading this right?

Are we confusing what a whooping is?

It's not a time out.

My parents were beating me. My children will not have to experience this.
Also its illegal to hit your kids

green - Corporal punishment banned in schools and the home
blue - Corporal punishment banned in schools only
red - Corporal punishment allowed in schools and the home

Quote:
Domestic corporal punishment, i.e. of children by their parents, is often referred to colloquially as "spanking", "smacking" or "slapping."

In an increasing number of countries it has been outlawed, starting with Sweden in 1979.[51] In some other countries, corporal punishment is legal, but restricted (e.g. blows to the head are outlawed and implements may not be used, and/or only children within a certain age range may be spanked).

In all states of the United States, and most African and Asian nations, corporal punishment by parents is currently legal; it is also legal to use certain implements such as a belt or paddle.

You probably are. If eg, her kids are throwing balls inside or something, they'll get slapped on the back of the hand or side of the head. My kids would get sent to timeout for that type of misbehavior. She'll literally say "come here for a whoopin" and then slap the back of their hands.

The thing is, I don't know if it's a difference in parenting technique or abuse. It sure doesn't seem like abuse, but kids are being hit.

My parents spanked me, but I generally discipline my kids with timeouts and guilt. Nothing is quite so heartbreaking as a parent as getting my 4 yo to start sobbing after I explain how he's done wrong.

Timeout is getting slapped? AND it's a whoopin'?

Who knows what words are...
