Chemda I am suprised you didn't pick up/mention the fact the Riker was raped in the previous epsode 4x15, First Contact. While tryign to escape from the hospital the nurse offers her help, as long as they have sex first. If he doesn't have sex with her she implys he will be caught.

This is absolutely rape, and Riker didn't look happy about it in the scene after the implied sex... the rapist sure does though.

It's been atleast 5 years since I've watched TNG, so forgive me if I'm not remembering details correctly. I think Riker has been complicit in enough rapey scenarios that I'm okay with him being on the receiving end of a little karmic rape.
I never really thought about Crusher in that situation, I thought Riker was the one being raped. It seemed to me that Crusher decided to have sex with her partner in her co workers body which would make her complicit. I didn't remember that bit about Riker being fully aware and Crusher not knowing. But as I said its been many years since I've seen it.

this episode doesn't really take you in depth into the Trill like DS9 does. the host and the symbiont exist as one and are also two and are also however many previous hosts there were. as a doctor on an exploratory ship, i'm not sure why Crusher isn't more well-versed in the phenomenon, but i haven't watched TNG in a minute myself.
