In my teens and twenties, I hung out with this core group of 4 or 5 girls. We always watched out for each other in general, but especially while out clubbing and/or drinking. At the end of the night, whoever was driving would call and let the phone ring just once to let us know she got home safely.

In 1992, one of my friends found out she had HIV and full-blown AIDS. Her health deteriorated quickly, and she died within a year of diagnosis. The day she died, as one of the other girls was sitting in her kitchen crying, the phone rang once. She got home safely.

I don't believe in ghosts, but I'm entertained by supernatural stories. However, driving home last night at 2am and coming home to an empty house really made me double check behind the shower curtain after listening to this episode on my ride home. Just in case of demons.

My mother watched Days of Our Lives when I was growing up (under 10) and we'd catch the second half of it when we got home from school. Because of the Salem Strangler I had to check my bedroom cupboards for years.

When I was googling this to make sure I remembered it right I found that they reintroduced this charter in 2015 some 30 odd years later. I feel sorry for the youth.

No ghosts and its the anti science teachings of religion, tooth fairy, santa claus et al that allows us to slip into that kind of thinking. Science is your shield.

The Warrens are charlatans and their "ghost investigations" are all bullshit. Look into all the debunking that's been done of every one of their stories. For Amityville, they sat around with several bottles of wine one night and hashed out their fake story with the Lutzes. Almost every detail of their book has been proven wrong, down to the point where the morning they claim George Lutz saw demonic footprints in the snow on a morning where the existing weather records indicate there wasn't even any snow on the ground that day.

I have an irrational fear of being alone in our house. Every time I'd spent time alone in my room there's this gut feeling that some ghost is in the kitchen or in our living room lurking and waiting for me to come out to scare the hell out of me.
