Chemda, is Hennessey basing this selection of supplements on any research papers or is this all from anecdotal online testimony from people with MG?

I'm not as broadly knowledgeable as Apia would be but I'm a researcher in the field of chemistry. I would definitely err on the side of having some confidence in what Hennessy has read in depth about. My specific experience however would have me concerned about online hype around things designation as 'super foods' when it hasn't been quantitatively studied. The boost in energy people report when they have wheatgrass smoothies for example is their body gearing up to fight off toxins from the wheatgrass.

Also, I'll just add that the identity of the active culture in your probiotic is very important (I think it can be difficult to get anything that isn't just the standard yoghurt culture). How much resistant starch and fiber do you get in your diet? Not to be funny but the description of your farts and bowel health over the podcast since your tumor make me think that either you're supplementing more than your stomach can handle (or not absorbing well) orrrr something is going on with your gut microbiome.

Jo,

I just started taking these pitamins. This is after I went to the doc and checked my stomach.
Something is going on with my stomach that is not appearing on tests. (I have more coming.)

BabyButt has been trying to get me on these vitamins but I only recently committed to them because it was hard to do on the stomach issues. Now that I’ve been taking them all, my stomach is not in pain. I don’t wake up at 4 to run to the bathroom.

I mind my diet for the most part but I’m certainly not perfect about it.

I’ll ask about where he read it and we’re open to thoughts. I don’t take any of this lightly though I joke on the show.

Thanks for caring.

While we're in this moment in history, I'd like for The Grabber to no longer be funny.

Pitamins and Baby Butt. I love reading these words in a serious discussion.

The thing that I learned from this episode is that the Hot Mess live episode could've been way worse. Love the shit out of this show.

Chemda- Why dont you go to a naturopath? They have a PhD in holistic medicine. Although they can be expensive, youll probably save by cutting down on Pitamins, and youll have a more efficient plan of action!

Forgiveness and rehabilitation is totally a thing considering Keith spent time in jail for check fraud and no one seemed to mention/remember it.

The idea of men getting scared of a "reckoning" is hilariously sad. I will say on the same topic, just saying "look it up" to someone who doesn't see both sides is glib and dismissive and ensures this attitude and behavior is going to continue. It's not that simple and requires discussion. Also look it up where? links, references?

Obvious statement: everything requires moderation.

Vitamins are OK, depending on what they are. If we're generally talking about addiction, being addicted to basic vitamins is completely different from being addicted to sleeping pills.

Melatonin is OK, sleeping pills are in the iffy territory. I understand Keith takes them sparingly and doesn't seem to be mixing them with other drugs.

As well, I think Chemda is right that Keith has taken part in criminal behaviour in the past, but, to me, his don't seem as bad as the other guests mentioned on the show. Those were ongoing acts, at a much larger scale, and affected a lot of people. And I suppose the stuff he did is in the past. I have a feeling some of these guests and friends, as much as I enjoy them, only stopped their behaviour because they were caught by law enforcement and were a little shamed by the public / listeners.

When we say “look it up” I’m pretty sure it’s usually in the context of “we’ve been talking, yelling, and discussing it like our life depends on it. So before you are just fully dismissive, open ANY channel of information. We are asking people to ask why people are yelling.

People will get upset if, while the topic is peaking in discussion, people say things like “eh, but it’s always been this way”.

So maybe we shouldn’t say “look it up” except that I don’t think that’s the first thing we say. So, by the time someone hears that, they only hear an exacerbated person.

And then the cycle begins. “Why are you so mad”.
