Or don't listen. It's like they don't have sex worker friends and know of other sex workers. Pretty sure your mind is already made up.

If they had a hundred guests come on and say they never faced abuse in the sex industry, I would believe those guests. However, if they are trying to say that abuse never happens, well that's provably untrue.

This is from Harvard. I trust Harvard more than a podcast:

The study’s findings include:
Countries with legalized prostitution are associated with higher human trafficking inflows than countries where prostitution is prohibited. The scale effect of legalizing prostitution, i.e. expansion of the market, outweighs the substitution effect, where legal sex workers are favored over illegal workers. On average, countries with legalized prostitution report a greater incidence of human trafficking inflows.

To be clear I have nothing against sex workers. I have a problem with the industry as a whole and its abuses. Similar to how I can not have a problem with people who use recreational drugs, but have a problem with the drug trafficking.

edit for grammar because I am tired

Listen to their podcast and hear about how trafficking laws affect sex workers in a horrible way. Listen to women who are in it or have been in it. Follow some of them on social media.

Are you trying to give me homework? One of my favorite professors does research on migrant sex work. I think I'll go talk to her about it instead.

As the lower earning spouse (by a lot) in my marriage, I am hoping you do not view me as a prostitute.

I wonder if the prostitution business is different now that dating apps have made finding a sex partner for the night super easy.
