When I was a kid I had to help burn fence lines. We used a diesel and gas mix that was in a little burner. Wished I could have pressurized that thing. Woulda been epic!

Like I said, ALMOST amazing. By and Large this wasn't a horror movie. If they billed it honestly as a drama between a mother and son with some spooky shit in it maybe it wouldn't have hurt as much to see it fail. The husband, as Keith says, is the fucking worst character and I wanted him removed from the whole movie. He does the bear fucking minimum as a HUMAN. Moving to the couch, talking on the phone and coming back to the house after seeing the seance and his son almost kills himself in school. Doesn't leave his crazy wife, doesn't take his unconscious son to the hospital.

As far as I understood the grandmother, who dies in the opening, had been trying to summon/appease this demon for years, using her lovers and her own son previously (as denoted by Toni talking about her brother killing himself as a teen after hearing voices, and later when she finds her diary with all the mom's dead lovers) and finally succeeded with Charlie. But since she was a weakling who could be killed by peanuts they wanted to put her in a stronger body. For no real reason besides being a bitch, the grandmother had also been possessing Toni and doing all that shit she did during her sleep walks, including the self-beheading at the end.

Toni will probably win an oscar for this but it was not a good movie.
