Hey man you’re not an outlier. I’m right there with you, but lemme tell you, at the age of 40 I’m just now finding things I’m interested in and going back to school to pursue them. If you had asked me 6 months ago, “hey would you ever think about going to school for aerospace engineering or physics?” I’d have laughed you out of the room. Never too late to find cool shit.

neat! my hubby ran sound for him a good bit and ran in the same circles. we got offered tickets to his birthday show and on further reflection, we should have gone. seeing as how he died on stage and all.

That’s like my grandmas wise words “Don’t try too hard, always take the easiest option”

Thank You Grandmar, I’ve been consistently mediocre since 1979.

not so much that, but people who think in organization and numbers. people for whom /that/ is where they're creative. watching someone draft a grant budget is like voodoo magic. my heart and soul belongs to art administrators; it takes a special A type to deal with us artsy farts.

that's not really the message of 'if you don't /have/ to, don't.' it's more that if you can do anything else and be happy, do that b/c chasing dreams isn't for the faint hearted or those with casual interest. if your soul doesn't cry out for it, if it isn't the only thing within you to do, just do something else.
