Don't have enough free brain cells to listen to this whole thing but I did skip to a random point (~15:00) where it's brought up that he doesn't want to move in with her because he doesn't like her dog enough? Like he likes her dog ok but not enough to see him every day?

"She says I'm not going to have to walk him, but it's gonna happen where I'm gonna have to pick up dog shit" / "I don't want the hair"

Sorry he sucks.

Not knowing you want to be with someone on a basic level is a terrible sign, I agree.

I actually thought the dog discussion made the most sense out of everything else he said. I'm the same way about animals. I don't want to take care of them. Been there, done that, and pet owners rarely care and are never understanding about their partner being uncomfortable. And, without a doubt, he will have to walk the dog, clean up after it, and have it in his personal space every day. (I'm also allergic to them, and people who are obsessed with their pets think that you can just take an allergy pill and everything will be OK, but that's not how severe allergies work).

Animals are a huge responsibility and can be very disruptive to a person's life. They can bring a lot of joy as well, but it depends on the person. As their relationship expert/friend mentioned, they need to compromise in order for the relationship to work. He's kinda shitty for getting involved with Mara when he knew he didn't want to live with a dog. Might be an excuse, actually. And she's probably not going to give up her pet. Normally the person without the pet has to compromise more, so, if you're not into pets, it's always better to find someone who doesn't have or need them.

Listening to this podcast. This guy has zero ability to take responsibility for how his actions impact her. He clearly doesn't to prioritize the relationship amd doesn't even seem to value it or her.
