I sincerely believe rich people should rebuild Notre Dame and since The Catholic Church is the single most wealthy entity on the planet I think they should pay for it all.

i don’t much care Notre Dame burnt down. maybe i’m just annoyed i had to sift through everyone’s Paris vacation photos. BUT, what an amazing missed opportunity to build something new. i think a stone by stone remake of the old is stupid. showcase /our/ moment in time. showcase the vision of whoever is influential in modern French architecture. add to and move forward the legacy.

My ex's mom emailed me shortly after we broke up after about five years. She didn't outright ask me what had happened but it was definitely implied - lots of "so sorry that this has happened, you guys were together for so long, blah blah blah" that I'm sure she expected me to reply with "yeah well here's why."

I think she knew it was something her son had done and she wanted to know what it was, to either make him fix it (maybe to get us back together) or hold it over him in the future as an example of how he had fucked up.

I don't remember what I replied exactly, but it was something generic and vague. If she emailed me a year or two after we'd broken up, however... man, I wonder what I would have said.

I’m not a fan of either religion nor France but I was sad about the fire in Notre Dame.

It’s a gorgeous monument of architecture and I’m happy it didn’t get more destroyed than it did. These firefighters did a great job.

But I don’t think people should donate to rebuild it - the Catholic Church is so fucking rich they could rebuild this easily themselves if they wanted to but they won’t because they are a bunch of selfish dicks.
